Zlatica : Re: Huta?Guta in the Ukraine
A map of Austria-Hungary :
http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/austhung.htm
An old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910
You would click on Ung megye to locate Unghuta.
Now it is in Ukraine just a bit over the Slovak Republic's border.
Use http://mapy.atlas.sk type in a window Petrovce and you will see the village of Guta / Huta. Click on the first Petrovce and then enlarge the map. The site does have an English version.
On the SK's atlas the village's name is Guta but on the mapy/atlas site it is Huta.
www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm is a good locator. (mapquest)
